IPEC completed several HTST (High Temperature Short Time) systems for a customer using cutting-edge technologies to process a variety of sustainable feedstocks into high-value oil products using microalgae.
These systems continuously pasteurize a variety of solutions by heating to a set-point temperature, holding for a specified time in the retention-tube assembly, then cooling prior to distribution for further processing or storage. Regenerative heating and cooling are used to lower utility requirements and operational costs.
IPEC worked closely with this customer on each system to customize the design for maximum efficiency while minimizing hold-up volume, system footprint and energy requirements for the specific processing application.
Based on successful implementation of the recently provided systems, IPEC is currently working with this customer to develop additional, similar systems to increase production capabilities.
