Super CIP
For larger facilities with high demand for CIP, a centralized “Super CIP” system may provide the greatest benefit. These systems typically leverage large common rinse vessels with smaller, dedicated wash sub-skids. Single point utility connections, master control systems and a more efficient overall use of space may also prove to be advantageous when compared to multiple standalone CIP systems.
Chemical Dosing
Chemical/detergent storage and dispensing equipment can be integrated within CIP systems or as stand-alone assemblies in support of multiple operations. IPEC is happy to help guide you through the various design options upon request.
Portability
If space is a limitation, new/additional facility piping cannot be accommodated, or you simply demand greater flexibility, IPEC Portable CIP Systems and Return Pump Carts are the solution.
Tankless CIP
Given proper downstream conditions and upstream utility support, it may be possible to operate a CIP process without the use of vessels. IPEC can assist with evaluation of this approach.
Pump Carts
Portable CIP return pump carts can provide flexibility in cleaning processes, reducing both capex and operating costs by minimizing the total equipment required for operations.
COP Tanks
IPEC clean-out-of-place (COP) systems are customized from basic and manually operated to advanced and fully automated. These systems can be certified for use in hazardous environments when cleaning solvents or other factors demand additional safety measures.
Cabinet Washers
IPEC custom cabinet washers are designed with careful consideration of equipment to be cleaned, available space and site utilities.
Tote Washers
IPEC can provide custom tote washing systems that are tailored to your specific operations.
CIP Vessels
CIP wash vessels are generally sized based on circuit volumes and consideration of downstream equipment. Rinse vessels are sized based on feedwater supply rates and the required rinse flow rates and duration for downstream equipment. The tanks can be atmospheric (non-code) or rated pressure vessels and can be configured in a number of ways with respect to insulation, manways, venting, and instrumentation. Multiple wash or rinse recovery vessels can also be used to increase flexibility and reduce waste in your cleaning operations.
Heating Systems
Heat exchangers adjust and maintain CIP wash and rinse solution temperatures as required to meet specified values. Both steam and electric options are available. Each heating system is custom-sized based on available utilities, required performance and governing industry standards.
Pumps
CIP Supply Pumps are designed to provide sufficient flow and pressure as dictated by facility piping, downstream equipment and associated spray devices. CIP Return Pumps are used to circulate cleanign and rinse solutions back to the system and can be configured as stationary or portable assemblies.
Valving
CIP valve style and configuration can vary dramatically based on specific industry standards and customer specification or preference. As part of our standard design process, IPEC will review options for style, configuration and manufacturer to provide each customer an opportunity to evaluate their optimal solution.
Flow & Pressure
Flow meters and pressure sensors are used to monitor and control the supply of CIP solutions to downstream equipment which can be critical for system validation. Various technologies and configurations are available for consideration.
Analytical Instrumentation
CIP systems typically use analytical instrumentation to verify detergent solution concentration and for confirmation and completion of final rinse. Conductivity probes are most commonly used for this purpose, however some systems may also incorporate pH, total organic carbon (TOC) or other analytical instrumentation based on customer specification or other regulatory guidance.
Controls
IPEC control systems are configured for the specific requirements of each project, utilizing customer-preferred components, communication protocols, hardware or software. Enclosures are assembled and integrated in-house by our UL508A-certified panel shop.
Automation
IPEC automation systems are developed for each specific process accommodating both specified requirements and customer-preferences. Fully automated systems can be provided using a variety of PLC platforms. For facilities with supervisory control systems, distributed I/O can be networked to allow remote operation. Systems may be configured to comply with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements or to provide other record-keeping/reporting functionality.
